SONY MUSIC INDIA launches platform for Indie Talent across South India with Knack Studios

THE MADRAS GIG- A one of its kind opportunity for Indie Talents in South India

Inviting entries from today for songwriters, lyricists & bands to email their works/show reels on madrasgig@knackstudios.in

Global music giant Sony Music and South India’s largest post production facility Knack Studioscollaborate to announce the launch of THE MADRAS GIG – a platform for indie talent across South India. Through this, the two brands aim at making indie music more accessible while also presenting fans with talent which are yet unexplored. The same will be mentored by leading musicians and music producers from the Tamil Movie industry. The objective is for Sony Music, Knack Studios and the talent to jointly create an enviable line-up of quality musicians.

Commenting on the same, Ashok Parwani, Head South , Sony Music India says, “The Madras Gig launched and backed by Anirudh Ravichander and many other popular artists from the music industry, is a distinctive proposition for young and upcoming talent to get together and create sounds that are unique. We believe there are slews of artists in the South who are extremely talented and need a right platform to exhibit their talents . We are inviting entries and are confident that there will definitely be some great music created.”

The Madras Gig Seasons will comprise of re-imagined versions of popular songs from the Sony Music catalog & original content in order to make for a mix of new & familiar content.
